You gotta admire John Otway. His first single was released in 1972 and even though major commercial success has continually eluded him he has built up a devoted following due to his willingness to play everywhere, anywhere, at any time - he even passed through this town earlier this year.
This is a great seasonal stormer built around a terrific riff with a fun video. The accompaniment of some of the good folk of Southend is a nice touch even if some of them do seem a bit confused as to what is going on.
